Yoshihide Wakaume has been working in facilities management at the Roppongi Hills Residences since before the buildings even opened. He's an outgoing, light-hearted, and fun person who is very popular amongst other MORI LIVING staff, but when the time comes to get the job done he can be just as serious as anyone else.
A team of about 40 building management staff for Roppongi Hills Residences A, B, C and D and Roppongi Sakura-zaka Residence work together to serve a total of about 800 families. Wakaume reports that there is a lot of laughter in the facilities and service center, making it a very happy place to work. "We have fun on the job, but we still work together to get things done and make the residents happy," he says.
One of Wakaume's favorite places at the Roppongi Hills Residences is the 'hovering space' above Residences B and C. An alternate to a helipad, the space allows helicopters to hover while picking someone up in an emergency situation. Thankfully such a situation has never occurred in the eight years Wakaume's been working here, but he still enjoys visiting the space for the magnificent views and sense of freedom that it offers.
While not working at Roppongi Hills Residences, Wakaume spends a large portion of his time playing darts with other MORI LIVING staff members. He first took up the pastime about a year ago, but has recently gotten more serious about it, and now goes two to three times a month to play, often staying out until the early hours of the morning. He says that he'd like to try his hand in a darts competition soon, but that he's "weak under pressure." One thing is sure--he certainly seems to have the required stamina!
