ARK Hills Brings Joy This Winter
December 05, 2013
Every Saturday at ARK Hills the Hills Marche is open , and now through December 22 the fun has tripled, with markets every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
This winter a 60-meter-long dining table that has been erected in ARK Karajan Place. This impressive table seats 200 people, which is definitely a sight to behold.
It's hard to believe that it's already December, but all across Tokyo there are signs of the season, from Christmas trees in the hotels and department stores to elaborate illuminations at places like Omotesando and Roppongi Hills.
In Akasaka, ARK Hills has also joined in the holiday spirit, with a series of winter events under the theme of "Joyful."
I love the Hills Marche that takes place at ARK Hills every Saturday, and now through December 22 the fun has tripled, with markets every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fridays focus on Christmas foods, Saturday's theme is "Love & Gifts," and Sunday's "Marche aux puces" includes antiques, fabrics, and a variety of odds & end s & curiosities, with a special focus on items from Europe.
Even if you visit the market each day it's open, you'll find something different each time.
Also, on December 7 and 21 there will be performances by a handbell choir or a gospel choir, and from December 21 through 25 there will be a market of prepared foods from the many ARK Hills restaurants and cafes.
But my personal favorite element of the ARK Hills winter event-and one that is impossible to miss-is a 60-meter-long dining table that has been erected in ARK Karajan Place. This impressive table seats 200 people, which is definitely a sight to behold.
So whether you're working on your laptop while sipping a coffee or enjoying a meal from one of the vendors nearby, take your place at the dining table alongside strangers-who knows? You may even make some new friends, and isn't that what the Christmas cheer is all about?
