Perfect Weather for a Barbecue at Roppongi Sakura-zaka Residence
November 04, 2014
Whenever you plan an outdoor event in advance, its success is largely dependent on how lucky you get with the weather once the day rolls around. After the annual barbecue at Roppongi Sakura-zaka Residence was cancelled last year due to a typhoon, residents were slightly apprehensive that the same thing would happen again this year.
But they needn't have worried. On the day of this year's event, a Sunday afternoon, it was absolutely gorgeous early autumn weather, with the sun shining brightly, not a cloud in the sky, and nothing but a light breeze blowing. The beautiful climate and surroundings only served to further lift the mood of residents, who were already looking forward to their long-anticipated barbecue.
MORI LIVING staff set up a kids area near the entrance of the Sakura-zaka rooftop garden, with fun games for little ones of all ages.
Around the corner was the food, a variety of delicious, fresh and healthy options professionally catered and grilled on the spot. From all kinds of meats and roasted potatoes to pizza and fresh veggie sticks, there was something to satisfy everyone.
One thing that makes Roppongi Sakura-zaka Residence special is its close-knit, community feel. Many of the residents are already friends, their kids go to school together, and the older children sometimes act as babysitters to the younger ones.
The atmosphere at the barbecue was welcoming and convivial, and even the newer residents quickly made friends with their neighbors. As I was getting ready to leave, I heard more than one person comment that the barbecue was so much fun, they can't wait for next year's to roll around!
