Redesigned Model Rooms Show Case's Versatility
October 17, 2014
Some time ago, I wrote on this blog about the model rooms at Case, MORI LIVING's small-scale residence in Shibuya's Kamiyamacho district. The model rooms were unique and imaginative, with unexpected elements such as a Japanese-style tatami room or a combination of home office and bar space.
Now, the model rooms have been redesigned, and the new layouts demonstrate just how versatile a property Case is.
I recently visited Case again to take a look at the new model rooms, and I was surprised to see how different the apartments looked, just by changing the furniture and layouts.
With most traditional apartments, each room has a pretty clear cut purpose: a bedroom, a living room, a dining room, etc. So even if you use your creativity, it can be difficult to put your own personality into the space and make it work perfectly for your needs. But the beauty of Case is that its curving walls and open spaces that blend into each other create a blank canvas on which you can write your own story.
Seeing how the model rooms changed was remarkable. A pinball machine and small dining table have been replaced by a warm and welcoming living area; a home office has been transformed into a light-filled bedroom; and that former tatami room is now a relaxing breakfast nook and seating area looking onto a rooftop garden.
Of course, the possibilities for using the spaces in other ways are endless-why not visit the model rooms yourself and imagine what you could do to make them your own?
