Residential spaces
that connect you
to a charming
cityscape
Architect Tadao Ando designed the apartments to give residents more freedom in shaping their home to suit their sensibilities. This is why the designs are minimalist—unadorned concrete and glass, pebble-washed flooring. Yet, there is color as well: a rich tapestry composed of the beautiful zelkovas and distinctive stores lining the shopping street outside fills each apartment’s picture windows.

Designs that create
harmony with
the neighborhood
To create a sense of harmony between the Omotesando Hills building and the local cityscape, its height was aligned with that of the zelkovas lining the shopping street where the complex is located. It was also given a structure that tapers as it travels the 250-meter length of the sloping street that it occupies.
Interiors consist of white surfaces and flooring, the simplicity allowing for greater freedom in decorating and furnishing the apartment. But while these minimalist spaces may stimulate your creativity, you will also find soothing comfort in the picturesque zelkovas framed by the large picture windows.

Homes that let you live among greenery while keeping you connected to the city
Tadao Ando
Omotesando Hills has an irregular structure that gives it a pleasing rhythm, and the large windows frame the beautiful row of zelkovas along the shopping street. The rooftop is planted with vegetation that forms a thematic connection with the tops of the trees visible just beyond the roof. This design allows you to live among greenery in a residential building that keeps you connected to the local area at all times, even if you are not at street level.
