In a disaster, this system transforms an entire neighborhood into a safe space that offers shelter in a disaster instead of becoming a hazard.

Security cameras and video intercoms provide a reassuring level of safety, along with a multilayered security network that monitors for emergencies around the clock and elevators that can only be operated by residents.
Earthquake resistance

Garden Plaza Residence has been designed to withstand tremors that are 50% more powerful than those used as a measure to test for standard earthquake resistance and has been fortified with additional earthquake resistance measures. Model simulations were also used to analyze the building’s resistance to swaying and buckling and determine whether additional fortifications were necessary.

Continuity is important following a disaster. A total of 250,000 emergency rations are stored across all Mori Building properties, but each apartment is also stocked with emergency supplies. These provide a robust emergency lifeline in case of disaster.

Protecting an entire
neighborhood
All 1,600 Mori Building employees belong to an emergency task force that in a disaster can be rapidly deployed for disaster-relief activities, even at night and on holidays. Twice every year, employees participate in a large-scale disaster drill so they can become even better equipped to protect the entire neighborhood covering Mori Building’s properties.
