During a meeting with MORILIVING staff the other day, I learned about the many 'soft benefits' of living in a MORI LIVING residence: things that are not tangible like the buildings themselves, but that nevertheless enhance residents' living experience. "We want people to feel like they're not living in a residential box, and that central Tokyo is their backyard," says the MORI LIVING staff.
These soft benefits are many and varied, and are constantly changing and increasing. Monthly programs and activities created exclusively for residents include cooking classes, tea ceremonies, private music performances and cinema showings, tours of the world-famous Tsukiji fish market, golf tournaments, cultural workshops and seminars, and private fashion shows of luxury brands. Residents also receive tickets to all exhibitions at the Mori Art Museum so that they can enjoy the gallery free of charge.
Also MORI LIVING residents can enjoy courtesy services and discounts at shops and restaurants in Roppongi Hills, ARK Hills, Atago Green Hills, The Prudential Tower, and other places.
Special room rates at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo are available to residents as well, with the idea being that they can use a five-star hotel as their guest room. Special weekly membership programs are arranged with the Tokyo American Club (for residents without a Japanese working visa or residency status) and the Foreign Buyers' Club in order to further enhance residents' experience in Tokyo.
But one of the most popular benefits offered by MORI LIVING is perhaps also one of the simplest. All year long complimentary copies of the newspaper Financial Times are available for residents. So popular is this program that almost all copies are gone by 8:00am, after being delivered around 6am.
Equally popular are the complimentary copies of TIME magazine, available for three months a year between September and November. These publications can sometimes be difficult to find and expensive to buy in Tokyo, so having them delivered to your residence free of charge is a truly excellent benefit, especially for non-Japanese residents who are looking for a little piece of home.
