A New Lounge and Meeting Space at Roppongi Hills
April 01, 2014
Residents of Roppongi Hills Residence C now have a new place to relax, hold meetings, read a book, work on their laptops, or chat with a friend over coffee.
While the lobby space itself is not new, having been a part of the building since it opened, it was recently renovated to make it more inviting and user-friendly.
As a part of the renovation, the lobby was redecorated and now includes some seminal pieces by Le Corbusier, which were chosen and lent to the building by the Mori Art Museum.
Throughout the year the museum will periodically replace the selection of art for with different pieces in order to maintain a fresh look and to give residents something new to enjoy. The furniture chosen is of the same style, inspired by Le Corbusier and, in some cases, designed by his contemporary, Charlotte Perriand.
But in addition to its stylish new look, the lobby lounge has also gained some great new functional elements.
Most notably, residents are now able to order drinks and cake from the Roppongi HILLS SPA, which will then be delivered to them in the lounge and charged to their room. Free wireless internet service is also available here for those who live in the building.
With the sunlight streaming in from floor-to-ceiling windows and filtered by blinds that are reminiscent of Japanese shoji doors, the lounge has a soft, inviting atmosphere.
After having a meeting there myself, I can attest to the fact that it sure beats any coffee shop or boardroom I've ever seen!
