Beer Garden and Night Market at ARK Hills
August 27, 2013
Two of my favorite things about summer are farmers' markets and dining and drinking outdoors, so I was excited to learn that ARK Hills is currently holding an event that combines both of these.
Every day from now through September 8, customers can take advantage of the Yona Yona Beer Kitchen, and on Friday evenings they can combine this with the Friday Night Marche.
The Night Marche is similar to the Hills Marche, which is held at ARK Hills on Saturdays throughout the year. Many of the same farmers participate in both markets, but the nighttime one offers a different selection of produce.
Since the morning market is geared toward families and those who are doing their shopping for the week, there tend to be a lot of vegetables. But at the night market, the main focus is on fruit. Juicy and delicious seasonal offerings include peaches, pears, grapes, melon and much more. Some stalls even sell fruit desserts and cut fruit, so that customers can enjoy it on the spot.
The Yona Yona Beer Kitchen only adds to the fun and lively atmosphere of the night market. Yona Yona is a popular Japanese craft beer, and the beer garden at ARK Hills is one of the few places to get it on tap.
Several varieties are available, from light seasonal offerings to darker brews like Tokyo Black. I decided to stick to the basics and went with the Yona Yona Ale. I'm not normally a beer drinker, but this was light, refreshing and very tasty. Kampai!
