ARK Towers Celebrates 25 Years
December 26, 2011
This year marks 25 years since construction completed on ARK Towers in Akasaka, and the event was recently marked with a party at the ARK Hills Club.
While the partygoers were eating and mingling, we were treated to a very interesting slideshow depicting the history of ARK Hills.
From cold pasta salad and finger sandwiches to lasagna, roast fish and Thai red curry, there were dishes to please all tastes and appetites.
This year marks 25 years since construction completed on ARK Towers in Akasaka, and the event was recently marked with a party at the ARK Hills Club. Attended by a mix of Japanese and international guests of all ages and professions, the party turned out to be both entertaining and informative.
After a short welcome speech, the guests were invited to help themselves to the extensive buffet of foods from around the world. From cold pasta salad and finger sandwiches to lasagna, roast fish and Thai red curry, there were dishes to please all tastes and appetites.
While the partygoers were eating and mingling, we were treated to a very interesting slideshow depicting the history of ARK Hills. These days, it's hard to imagine Tokyo without the many multi-purpose building complexes that are so prevalent in the city, and yet at the time when Mori Building was planning ARK Hills, it was a revolutionary concept for Japanese architecture. I found it fascinating to see the slide showing the site of ARK Hills before construction began, as well as those with images of the project underway.
Later on in the evening the entertainment continued with an energetic dance routine performed by staff members of Mori Living. Even a few men were brave enough to don funny costumes while they danced and skipped about the room, giving high fives to some audience members as they passed.
After this, the final performance of the night was a trio of songs played by a very talented violinist, who also happens to be a resident of ARK Hills. It was the perfect way to end a very successful 25th anniversary party.
